We have two exciting things to share with you today.
We are so close to our goal! A generous Rail Trail donor and supporter will match up to $10,000 in donations we receive by the end of the year, and we have raised $7,050 to date. We hope you will take a moment to help us finish meeting this goal. Any funds raised above the challenge match will be spent in 2018 to help us match the grants we have received for the Outdoor Classroom and Route 22 Crossing. Donate today at http://hvrt.org/donate/.
Volunteers are the backbone of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association. As 2017 comes to a close, we’re looking forward to 2018 and all the exciting volunteer projects coming up next year.
We will be cleaning up the Trail, installing new signs and benches, performing annual Trail user counts, planting new Chestnut tree saplings in our Trail Side Chestnut Grove at the Orphan Farm Meadow, staffing Trail side information tables, maintaining amenities along the Trail and working towards opening up an Early Action northern Trail section for public use.
Do you like working outside on a beautiful sunny day? Do you have a few hours to spare? Sign up as a volunteer for the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Its really fun work and it helps make the Trail a beautiful place for all to enjoy. Visit http://hvrt.org/volunteer/ and fill out our new volunteer form today!
